In the January 2005 show, Ibanez presented the newest Exotic Wood acoustic guitar point offering three remarkably inexpensive, visually striking and different versions in highly figured ash, curly maple and zebrawood. The launch was so well received that Ibanez reported the first acoustic-electric edition at the Indianapolis Summer NAMM show.
“Even more radical is what can’t be seen: an original wooden top-support program underneath the bridge Ibanez calls “Sound Expand” design allows us to use finer brace, which allows the very best to vibrate more freely. In addition it provides a more even balance between highs, levels, and mids.” – commented Irene Shvartsman of Ibanez Traditional Instruments.
“We found that the guitar seems dramatically higher, and larger in tone compared to same guitar without Sound Expand construction.”
